Municipal Corporation and Consultant firm have finalized Smart City Proposal. On Friday this proposal will be sent to the Union Urban Development Ministry. After several amendments, the final proposal of 2822 crores has been prepared.
The government is fully committed to the smart city mission. In addition to adding about sixty cities under Smart City so far, forty and new cities can join this grade soon. The Union Urban Development Ministry has also sought proposals from various states in this regard.
Dharamshala interrupts in a legal battle with Shimla to enroll in Smart City. Now the Smart City mission of Dharamshala seems to have puzzled into funding. Himachal Pradesh government is saying to spend ten percent of its share to the Smart City project. While Central Government is saying to give only 50 percent fund to Himachal Pradesh on the lines of other smart city projects.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Bhubaneswar Smart City Ltd (BSL) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNPFA) in order to take the New Urban Agenda forward in socially promoting the smart city of Bhubaneswar. Members of UN (United Nations) meet in Ecuador, Quito in order to approve the agenda.
According to the published news, the Mayor S. Ravinder Singh has requested to the residents of Karimnagar to share their views and ideas for the development of the town and the preparation of Detailed Project Report (DPR) for securing the ‘Smart City’ status.
