Govt. to Launch Skill Development under Smart City Project in Delhi
Skill Development Centre will be launched on June 25 under the Smart City Project in the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC). This is the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Dream project. The Skill Development Centre is now working 20 cities including Lutyens’ Delhi.
In this month Government will start the health and solar energy courses at the NP Boys School, Mandir Marg. In the first phase, the council aims to provide skill training to over 1,080 students.
Abhay Jain, Director of the project, said, “We will be starting with nine courses related to health and solar energy sectors. These will include for pharmacy assistants, dental assistants, vision technicians, home health aid and diabetic educators, among others. There will be 120 students per course. We are already flooded with applications.”
The council will provide robotics, animation, augmented reality and virtual reality (ARVR), and 3D printing and other new Skill courses in the second phase.
he also said that “The gen-next courses will be launched from the upcoming skill center at Moti Bagh, which will have world-class facilities under Smart City Project. We have got a 25 sqm plot there. We hope to lay the foundation stone for the new center on June 25 itself.”
The Council has decided to tie up with the Central government’s National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) for some courses. Council aim at establishing a lot of center in the area
