DDA to Develop Three Integrated Sub-Cities in Delhi
Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has decided to develop three integrated sub-cities in Dwarka, Narela and Rohini. The authority will release the tenders in next month and it will also start work for Yamuna river front development by October 2.
DDA has received the target from housing and urban affairs (HUA) ministry on Friday. These three sub-cities will be developed with the features of smart cities including round the clock water and electricity supply, 100% treatment of both solid and liquid waste, rainwater harvesting and smart lighting, to name a few.
These sub-cities would be developed better than other cities with smart cities features on the available vacant land at Dwarka (200 hectares), Narela (218 hectares) and Rohini (259 hectares). In this regard, DDA will invite bids in the second week of next month and the developers will be selected by October.
DDA has promised to start the development works of Yamuna bank over 500 acres along Old Railway Bridge-ITO barrage stretch October 2. The authority will also develop road between Indira Gandhi International Airport and Cannaught Place to global standards by March 2020.
The authority will finalize one of the four alignments which are proposed by the consultant by next month. Besides, the final drawings will be approved by December.
