CISCO Ready to Digitally Transform 14 Cities in India
As per the published news of Economics Times, the CISCO is actively working with state governments and its partners to digitally transform 14 cities. Not Just Nagpur in Maharashtra its has decided to connect 100 cities as part of PM Modi’s ‘Digital India Program‘ initiative.
In a Q&A with IANS CISCO CEO Robbins said that we have joined hands with state governments to digitally transform 14 cities with help of our partners. He also said I wish to take this number to 100 in the next five-seven years in line with the Indian government’s ‘Digital India Program’ and ‘make in India’ initiatives.
Robbins said that we are working closely with our partners in India as they have the skills and capabilities to make this happen.
In order to provide cyber security, last month launched its manufacturing operations in Pune and announced it would build Nagpur as Smart City with its Next-Gen Solutions.
According to the industry analysts reports, around 23 billion connected devices and it is likely to increase the number to over 50 billion by 2022 and Cisco is prepared to help governments and enterprises achieve this goal.
However, to achieve this goal it will provide a secure ecosystem from hardware to software because customers are the key.
At the event, the CISCO has launched an Advanced malware Protection (AMP) for Endpoints. The new technology that combines prevention, detection and response to simplify endpoint security.
Besides this, Cisco has also announced to extend its software licensing programme. Cisco ONE Software into Advanced Security.
According to Pankaj Gupta, Senior Director, Enterprise Portfolio Marketing, Cisco, the Indian government and enterprises need security like never before and the new endpoint security solution will provide that.
