Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar said that the Haryana government has decided to develop Gurgaon as Smart City under 100 Smart City Project on yesterday at the Nasscom Product Conclave in Gurgaon.
Gurgaon is also running in the race of smart city but the main reason for Gurgaon trailing behind is its non-inclusion in Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM).
The State Government has requested to the Centre to include Gurgaon in the list and provide Rs 100 crore, the amount to be given by Central Government annually for developing a smart city, he added.
“We have requested the Centre Government to include Gurgaon in the list and take three cities, instead of two, from Haryana. The Central Government is considering the proposal. If at all it does not accede to our request, the state government would develop Gurgaon as the smartest city”, the Chief Minister added
