Maharashtra CM launched first smart city project blueprint in Mumbai

Maharashtra government CM has launched the Rs35,000-crore CIDCO Navi Mumbai (south) Smart City project blueprint on Friday. The most ambitious 100 Smart City Mission was launched by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in June 2015. CIDCO to Develop Navi Mumbai Smart City Project

Maharashtra government will be developed its first smart around 120 sq. km area in Navi Mumbai before 2019. The Navi Mumbai has been selected as a smart city under smart city mission with other nine cities in the state. The CIDCO has launched the Navi Mumbai Smart City Project with an initial cost of project Rs 2,033.14 crore.

Mumbai, Nagpur, Nashik and Seven More Cities Selected as ‘Smart City’

Last few days the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnvis said the Maharashtra Government has selected Mumbai, Nagpur and Aurangabad among 10 other cities in the state under the ‘Smart City Project’.

List of selected cities in Maharashtra:

  • Navi Mumbai
  • Mumbai
  • Pune-Pimpri Chinchwad,
  • Amravati
  • Solapur
  • Nagpur
  • Kalyan Dombivali
  • Aurangabad
  • Nashik
  • Thane

These cities will be developed as smart cities under NDA government and other cities under mega Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) plan. The government has proposed to spend around Rs 1 lakh crore on the two schemes over the next five years. While Rs 48,000 crore has been earmarked for 100 smart cities, Rs 50,000 crore are marked for the AMRUT scheme for 500 cities
