In order to make Chennai as a smart city, the Greater Chennai Corporation has invited the applications for CEO & CFO posts in Chennai Smart City Limited (CSCL), the special purpose vehicle tasked with the project’s implementation. This project will be implemented Rs. 518 crore worth solutions related to water management and information communication technology and Rs. 848 crore worth retrofitting solutions for T Nagar.

According to the published news in Times of India, a meeting was held on Monday between Tamil Nadu Urban Finance and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (TUFIDCO) and the city corporation to find the suggestion on the smart city proposals and also from various working groups.
After the announcement of the third list of smart cities, the government has given a new kick start to Atal Mission of Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT). This is an urban renewal plan of Central government which was launched to transform 500 cities across India.
